Volunteer Taster Day on 26th November and the chance to view 73130

The Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway welcomed a new arrival on Friday 4th November in the form of Class 73 'Electro-Diesel' no. 73130.

The railway, in conjunction with loco owners 73130 Ltd are holding a static open day at their Cynheidre site on Saturday November 26th where the new arrival will take centre stage and be on display for the first time. Come and take a look in the cab of this 600hp diesel loco.

If possible on the day we will be starting the loco up for the first time in West Wales and regularly throughout the day. This is subject to loco condition on the day.

Tea and coffee will be available to purchase as well as snacks and our shop will be open selling merchandise and gifts.

This is a free admission event but no train rides will be on offer to visitors.

To coincide with our public open day we are hosting a volunteer taster day, where you can meet with our volunteers and have a look around our site to see if volunteering with us might be for you. No need to pre-book, just call in!

2023 is going to be the most exciting year yet for the railway with a line extension and the expansion of our offerings on site.
