Recruitment push ahead of re-opening
The Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway are seeking new volunteers to join the project ahead of a return to public events later in the year.
The railway are currently advertising for the following roles:
Grants & Funding Officer
Class 142/143 DMU Fitter
Medical Officer
Nurse Advisor
There are also ongoing opportunities in the following areas:
Administrative staff (Booking office assistants, secretarial roles, Welsh language translation)
Event day preparation volunteers & stewards, buffet car staff
Site maintenance staff (Site improvements/upkeep, gardening, train and track repairs)
Operational staff (Current or Trainee Drivers, Guards, Shunters, Crossing Keepers) - full training provided
Event guides - for history talks/customer interaction
Skilled/Interested in restoration? Come and help us to restore our 1958 built Class 122 DMU no. 55019 to operational status! Urgently needed for the public to enjoy.
The railway is now in a position to re-open to socially distanced general volunteering days, starting with Saturday 24th April from 10am onwards and we urge you to consider becoming part of our friendly team.
Lockdown has been hard for everyone, so we really want to make volunteering a fun experience for all, whilst improving your skills and confidence.
